Cubs and City Closing in on Bleacher Expansion Deal

The never ending saga between the Cubs and the City appears to be coming to an end.

Today's Sun Times reports: the City of Chicago and the Cubs are closing in on a deal that will give the Cubs 1,800 additional seats in the bleachers. The Cubs have agreed to lower the number of additional seats and to eliminate the controversial "El-like" columns by moving the exterior outfield walls 8' onto the sidewalks.

The bleacher expansion is just a part of the Cubs plan to modernize Wrigley Field. The construction of the Wrigley Campus above will bring the Cubs additional revenue and allow fans to enjoy many amenities newer ballparks have.
