Dominoes start to fall: MacPhail Gone

The Chicago Cubs 2006 failure took it's first victim this afternoon. Surprisingly, the victim was not Dusty Baker. It was the leader of the whole brigade! Andy MacPhail has resigned as president of the Cubs. I repeat ANDY MACPHAIL HAS RESIGNED AS PRESIDENT OF THE CUBS.

John McDonough will serve as interim President of the Chicago Cubs. This quote from Dennis FitzSimons:

"John and Jim Hendry have one mandate: To win a world championship for the incredibly loyal fans of the Chicago Cubs"

Curious that McDonough has the interim label. We will know more in the coming days. The good news is that we have the regime change this franchise desperately needed.
