The Redbirds signing of Mark Mulder gives the NL Champs the one thing they lacked in 2004...an ace. Don't be confused by the stats. Mulder is an ace. This was a great trade by Walt Jocketty.
How will Jim Hendry respond? Will he? If he doesn't it will be another long season. As a fan I am not sure what Cubs management is thinking at this time. The Cubs have not addressed any of their needs this offseason. The Cubs need to retool their pen and find a legitimate leadoff hitter. The Cubs can sign Carlos Beltran, if they don't find a leadoff hitter and fix the 'pen they'll be in trouble in 2005.
